Decentralized Video Protocol Engineer

About the Role: Join Streamplace as a Decentralized Video Protocol Engineer to build the backbone of decentralized video infrastructure for the AT Protocol ecosystem. You'll be responsible for developing, testing, and documenting the core video protocols that power creator-sovereign livestreaming and VOD experiences across platforms.

What You'll Do:

• Design and implement high-performance video processing pipelines in Go
• Architect, develop, and optimize the Streamplace Protocol for signed video segments
• Work with cryptographic primitives to ensure content authenticity and provenance
• Build and maintain the open-source Streamplace node that powers our ecosystem
• Collaborate on WebRTC and HLS streaming infrastructure
• Develop robust testing frameworks for video delivery at scale
• Write clear technical documentation for the protocol
• Contribute to open standards around decentralized video

Requirements:

• Strong experience with Go programming language
• Experience with video streaming technologies (WebRTC, HLS, RTMP)
• Familiarity with GStreamer pipelines or similar media processing frameworks
• Understanding of network protocols and distributed systems
• Passion for open-source development and documentation

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Rust or C for performance-critical components
• Knowledge of cryptographic signing schemes (C2PA, signatures)
• Background in AT Protocol, Farcaster, or other decentralized social protocols
• Previous contributions to open-source projects
• Experience with containerization and deployment tools
• Comfort with occasional livestreamed development sessions
• Interest in decentralized technologies and creator sovereignty

Lead Front-End Engineer

About the Role: As Lead Front-End Engineer at Streamplace, you'll shape the user experience of our video applications across web, iOS, and Android platforms. You'll own the entire front-end stack, from design systems to cross-platform components, creating intuitive interfaces for both viewers and creators in the decentralized video ecosystem.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the development of the Streamplace application across web and mobile platforms
• Design and implement intuitive user interfaces for streaming and viewing experiences
• Create and maintain a cohesive design system and component library
• Build embeddable React components for third-party integration
• Develop and publish npm packages for embedding Streamplace in atproto ecosystem apps
• Write comprehensive documentation for developers integrating with our platform
• Collaborate closely with protocol engineers to ensure seamless user experience

Requirements:

• Expert-level React and React Native experience
• Strong design sensibilities and implementation skills
• Experience building and publishing reusable component libraries
• Ability to balance technical constraints with excellent user experience
• Passion for documentation and developer experience
• Proven track record shipping cross-platform applications

Nice to Have:

• Experience with streaming media interfaces and video players
• Familiarity with AT Protocol, Bluesky, or decentralized social applications
• Understanding of WebRTC technologies for low-latency video
• Experience with TypeScript and strong typing systems
• Design tool proficiency (Figma, etc.)
• Open-source contribution history
• Comfort with occasional livestreamed development sessions
